Estonian STACC and eAgronom receive €430K from the European Space Agency

AI developer STACC and startup eAgronom have received a €430K grant from the European Space Agency (ESA) for the CoverCrop project. 

STACC is a company that develops solutions based on artificial intelligence for various sectors: commerce, industry, media, e-health. The startup was founded in 2009 in Tartu, Estonia.

eAgronom is an Estonian company that has created a platform for farm management using field data analysis, satellite monitoring, data validation, greenhouse gas emission calculator and more. The company was founded in 2016 by Robin Saluoks and Kristjan Luha. Now eAgronom works with more than 3K farmers in 14 countries.

The funds received from ESA will enable the companies to develop technology that will allow it to automatically estimate plant biomass and monitor intermediate crops using satellite data. Moreover, the MRV (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) satellite system will be developed to facilitate the collection and verification of data based on farmers' activities.
