Estonian Startup Wise Guys invests in Spanish Cloudtainer

Estonian Startup Wise Guys has invested in Spanish Cloudtainer, which uses blockchain technology to control and track international shipments. In addition to Startup Wise Guys, Spain's Briseida Ventures, Nueso Group, Chile's Broom Logistic, Argentina's Koala Smart Business and private investors participated in the €218K funding round. 

Cloudtainer is a company that specializes in container logistics security solutions for the transportation and logistics industry. It offers a platform for real-time monitoring, access control and advanced tracking of shipping containers using IoT technology. The startup was founded in 2019 in Bilbao, Spain.

With the investment, Cloudtainer will continue to develop Cloudlock, a smart lock for shipping containers and trucks that detects who, when and where a container/truck is opened and shares the information on a platform that connects all stakeholders (exporters, importers, carriers, etc.).

Launched in 2012, Estonian Startup Wise Guys is an accelerator that invests in early-stage startups from the Baltic, Central European, and Africa n regions. Startup Wise Guys typically invests up to €500K per company through multiple funds that manage €45M and are backed by more than 150 investors. The CEO of Startup Wise Guys is Cristobal Alonso.
