Baltic venture capital funds are among the top 3 most active in CEE
In the annual PitchBook 2024 Global League Tables ranking, Baltic venture funds FIRSTPICK, Coinvest Capital and Startup Wise Guys ranked among the top three most active venture capital investors in CEE taking second and third place.
Founded in 2022, FIRSTPICK is a venture capital firm based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The firm seeks to invest in early-stage companies operating in the fintech, software as a service, deep tech, and consumer marketplaces sectors across the Baltic region. The partners of Firstpick are Jone Vaituleviciute, Marijus Andrijauskas, Andra Bagdonaite.
Coinvest Capital, an early stage venture capital fund established in 2018 by the national development bank ILTE, invests EU and Republic of Lithuania public funds, in promising Lithuanian startups. Since its inception, the fund and its partners have already invested €37.9M in 39 startups. The managing director of Coinvest Capital is Viktorija Trimbel.
Founded in 2012, Startup Wise Guys is an accelerator based in Tallinn, Estonia. The firm seeks to invest in companies operating in B2B, software as a service, fintech, cybersecurity, and sustainability sectors based in Europe. Startup Wise Guys typically invests up to €500K per company through multiple funds that manage €45M and are backed by more than 150 investors. The CEO of Startup Wise Guys is Cristobal Alonso.
