Lithuanian venture fund BSV Ventures invests in medical startup Solid IO


Vilnius-based venture fund BSV Ventures has invested in Finnish medical startup Solid IO. The €800K deal also included venture fund Nordic Science Investments, University of Helsinki funds and a private European investor.
Solid IO is a Helsinki-based medical startup that specializes in "organ-on-a-chip" technology that provides critical real-time data for personalized disease management. The startup is founded in 2025 by Noora Hujala and Dr. Heidi Haikala.

Solid IO plans to use the funds raised to develop a tumor-on-a-chip platform to help physicians choose the most effective therapy from day one, improving patient outcomes and reducing unwanted side effects.

BSV Ventures (formerly Baltic Sandbox Ventures) is a venture capital fund specializing in investments in high technology, biotechnology and dual-use technologies in the Baltic States and the rest of Europe. The fund was founded by Sandra Golbreich, Andrius Milinavičius and Erik Bhullar in 2022 in Lithuania. Last year fund has raised $15M from NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), Lithuanian ILTE fund (ex-Invega). BSV Ventures has offices in Lithuania, Estonia and Finland.
