Estonian DeepTech startup DriveX raises €1.2M

Estonian company DriveX has raised €1.2M to further develop its windshield damage detection technology using artificial intelligence.

The funding round was organized by Carglass Estonia, Lithuanian and Slovenian business angels. In addition, the startup received a development grant from the Estonian Applied Research Program.

DriveX is a technology company founded in Tallinn, Estonia in 2019 by Kentti Koppel, Rauno Sigur and Valter Läll. The company's artificial intelligence-based app created by the company helps car owners capture images of windshield damage and provides an instant, highly accurate assessment within seconds, indicating whether the glass can be repaired or needs to be replaced. The app is already being used by 20 insurance companies in 12 countries.

According to DriveX, using the app can reduce glass replacement costs. Since repairing small cracks is 10 times more economical and produces 1,000 times less waste compared to a full glass replacement.

Carglass Estonia is a company dealing with the replacement and repair of car windows. The Carglass trademark belongs to Belron International Ltd group. Carglass Estonia was established in 2010.
