Fyma co-founder and CTO Taavi Tammiste steps down from position
Co-founder and CTO of Estonian motion analytics startup Fyma Taavi Tammiste is stepping down from his position. According to his message on Linkedin, Tammiste will remain a shareholder and continue to support the company as it moves forward.
Launched in Tallinn in 2019 by Karen Burns and Taavi Tammiste, Fyma develops computer vision and AI solutions. The company's technology helps commercial real estate developers, asset owners, and managers retrieve anonymized data from video feeds, for example, to analyze occupancy, track footfall, and manage parking.
Fyma's software integrates with any IP camera. Its retail solution tracks customer traffic, movement patterns, and demographics. As a result, retailers and mall operators can optimize store layouts, product placement, and marketing strategies. Its mobility data solution collects and analyzes data on traffic volume, speed, and patterns, which can be used to improve road and access networks and public safety and reduce road congestion. The startup's technology transforms new and old cameras installed in urban spaces into powerful sensors capable of receiving and analyzing real-time data using artificial intelligence. During Tammiste's work at Fyma, the company has raised four investment rounds and concluded partnerships with major real estate developers in the UK and Canada. The most recent round was in 2023 when London-based Quadri Ventures and Chicago-based Second Century Ventures invested $2.1M.
