Defense tech Broswarm raises €800K from Lithuanian ScaleWolf
Lithuanian startup Broswarm, which develops technologies for battlefield mine detection, has raised €800K from Lithuanian fund and accelerator ScaleWolf.
Founded in Vilnius in 2023 by Ernestas Zvaigzdynas, Karolis Zvaigzdynas, and Mindaugas Talaikys, Broswarm uses multi-sensor fusion and machine learning technology for drones. The startup equips drones with metal detectors, magnetometers, thermal imagers, and HD cameras to find small, typically hard-to-detect objects, while machine learning algorithms analyze the sensor data. This technology combines data from different sensors or disparate sources to provide a more accurate picture of the situation.
Broswarm will use the investment for research and development of its X-Ray Eagle sensor. It uses advanced radio waves and creates 3D images of objects hidden in the ground. The sensor can be mounted on drones and can detect objects up to 0.5 meters deep from a height of 10 meters above the ground. Over the next 12 months, Broswarm plans to carry out further field tests and deploy its drones in Ukraine in the future.
In March 2024, Broswarm raised $100K (€94K) from ScaleWolf.
Scale Wolf accelerator and fund was established by the Lithuanian state-owned company INVEGA, with an initial size of €13,5M. Scale Wolf invests in Lithuanian startups developing defense and security technologies, in particular, artificial intelligence and IT, lasers, optics, cybersecurity, virtual reality, etc. Scale Wolf consists of two funds: Scale Wolf VC fund and Scale Wolf Accelerator fund. The funds are controlled by the venture capital institution MILInvest. The head of Scale Wolf VC fund is the former Vice Minister of Defense of Lithuania Edvinas Kerza.
