Startup Wise Guys invests in Italian automated delivery solution Vado

Estonian accelerator and fund Startup Wise Guys has become the lead investor in the €440K seed round of Italian startup Vado, which has developed an automated delivery solution. Milan-based VC Angels4Impact also participated in the deal. €394K was raised in equity from private investors and €50K in a loan from Italian bank Banca Sella.

As part of the deal, Italian business angel Andrea T. Orlando joins the team as a founder.

Based in Turin and founded in 2020 by Alessandro Ursinо, Alberto Luison, and Alessandro Bruno, Vado's technology enables the creation of menus in delivery apps (Glovo, Deliveroo, JustEat, UberEats) and integration with distributors (vending machines). The customer selects products and orders them in the delivery app. The courier receives the delivery address and the unlock code to get the product from the vending machine and delivers the product to the customer. This technology allows delivery applications to operate 24/7.

The solution is suitable for selling pharmacy products (not drugs), snacks, candy, pastries, drinks and beverages, cosmetics, packaged ready-to-eat foods such as sushi, and others, as well as pet products.

Launched in 2012, Estonian Startup Wise Guys is an accelerator that invests in early-stage startups from the Baltic, Central European, and African regions. Startup Wise Guys typically invests up to €500K per startup through multiple funds that manage €45M and are backed by more than 150 investors. The CEO of Startup Wise Guys is Сristobal Аlonso.
