Estonian Uptime acquires majority stake in Spanish software developer Unatec

Estonian information technology company Uptime has acquired a majority stake in Madrid-based software developer Unatec. Details of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in Tallinn in 1992, Uptime develops customized software solutions for small, medium, and large enterprises. The company provides consulting services and specializes in SharePoint solutions, business and IT system analysis, prototyping and design, back-end and front-end development. Uptime works with .NET, Java, Node.js, JavaScript, React, Vue.js, Angular, Swift, and PHP1.

The company has offices in Estonia, Denmark, Poland, Norway and Switzerland. Uptime's CEO is Eero Tohver, who owns 90.01% of the developer through Osaühing ET & Ko Konsultatsioonid. The Uptime team consists of more than 200 employees.

Following the transaction, the company's team will increase by almost 40 people, and its customer portfolio will include several large energy companies. The company aims to grow its business through strategic partnerships, with the energy sector being a key growth area for the company.

Founded in Madrid in 2006, Unatec specializes in the development and management of software solutions for the energy industry, including the exploitation of renewable energy sources, optimization of energy distribution, and more. Unatec's customers include Spanish energy companies such as Naturgy, Repsol, Iberdrola, and Endesa.
