Estonian autonomous surveillance systems developer DefSecIntel secures €5M from Swedbank

Tallinn-based developer of surveillance and control solutions DefSec Intel Solutions (DefSecIntel) has secured €5M overdraft loan from Swedish banking group Swedbank. 

Founded in 2018 by Jaanus Tamm, DefSecIntel develops autonomous surveillance systems designed for national defense, border control, and critical infrastructure monitoring. The company integrates AI technologies into its solutions. It offers automated medium- and long-range surveillance towers equipped with autonomous power sources and command and control software.

DefSecIntel provides tools for monitoring and protecting military installations, conducting reconnaissance, and protecting valuable assets. Its solutions can be used to detect illegal fires, poaching, and deforestation and can operate in a variety of terrain and weather conditions.

DefSec Intel Solutions employs over 80 people and operates in Estonia, Ukraine, and Germany. In the coming years, the company plans to expand its customer base and enter new markets, as well as increase its turnover from the current €30M to €120M. The startup will use the loan to support working capital, service existing international contracts, increase production volumes, and expand the business.
