Metaplanet invests in Swedish company Kognic
Estonian fund Metaplanet has invested in Kognic, an annotation platform for sensor fusion data. The startup has raised a €8.8M round from existing investors Neudi Kapital and Stena Sessan.
Founded in 2018 in Gothenburg, Sweden, by Daniel Langkilde and Oscar Petersson, Kognic is a platform that helps companies better analyze data sets and make them more reliable. The startup's solution helps improve AI products for the automotive, robotics, and manufacturing industries. For instance, it helps develop, deploy and test products for self-driving cars or ADAS systems.
Kognic provides a set of annotation and visualization tools for computer vision. Companies can use them to annotate sensor fusion data from LiDARs, radars, and cameras. In addition, Kognic provides performance analytics to better understand how well a model is performing compared to business expectations.
Metaplanet Holdings is an early-stage investment firm of Skype’s founder Jaan Tallinn.
