Lithuanian Sort a Brick raises investment

Lithuanian AI-powered solution for sorting old LEGO bricks Sort a Brick has raised investment from Lithuanian SOFIGAMA Investments, Vilnius-based IT consulting solutions integrator Reiz.tech, and several Baltic business angels at the end of 2023. The amount of the round has not been disclosed, but it was provided in the form of convertible loans. The startup plans to raise more funds in a full-fledged priced pre-seed round in the third quarter of 2024.

Founded in Vilnius by Ilya Malkin and Aurimas Slapšys, Sort a Brick offers an AI-powered brick sorting service that restores broken plastic toy bricks. The company takes the set of bricks, cleans and sorts them while identifying and categorizing them by size, color, and shape. It then designs a new model out of the broken parts. If the customer approves a new model, Sort a Brick sends back a restored set of bricks back to the customer.

In September 2023, the startup joined the acceleration program of Lithuanian accelerator Firstpick, which typically invests between €50K to €100K in each startup.

Founded in Kaunas by Paulius Vilemas (a founding member of LitBAN), SOFIGAMA Investments focuses on seed, late seed, and series A rounds of deep tech, biotech, medtech, and edtech startups from the Baltics.
