Defense tech Broswarm raises $100K

Lithuanian mine detection startup Broswarm has raised $100K. The lead investor was the Lithuanian fund ScaleWolf.

Founded in Vilnius in 2023 by Ernestas Žvaigždinas, Karolis Žvaigždinas, and Mindaugas Talaikis, Broswarm uses multisensor fusion and machine learning technology for drones to make the mine detection process safer, faster, and more efficient, particularly in challenging weather conditions.

Brainworm offers to equip drones with metal detectors, magnetometers, thermal imaging, and HD cameras, which help find small, usually very difficult-to-detect objects and machine learning algorithms analyze sensor data. This technology combines data from various sensors or disparate sources to provide a more accurate picture of the situation more accurate.

Broswarm will use the investment to develop its multi-sensor array technology, and also patent it. It will also test the solution in Ukraine this year.

Scale Wolf consists of two funds: Scale Wolf VC fund and Scale Wolf Accelerator fund. In March 2023, the initial size of the funds, established by the Lithuanian state-owned company INVEGA, was €13,5M, but they managed to raise additional investments from private investors. The funds are controlled by the venture capital facility MILInvest. The head of Scale Wolf VC fund is Edvinas Kerza.

Scale Wolf VC invests in defense and dual-purpose technology. In September 2023, the fund announced its intention to invest €17M into Lithuanian startups that develop solutions in the areas of defense and security.
