Anneli Aljas joins Estonian Starship Technologies as VP of finance

Anneli Aljas, ex-CEO of bankrupt tax and customs technology company Eurora, has joined the Estonian autonomous delivery vehicle developer Starship Technologies as a vice president of finance.

Anneli Aljas' previous experience includes working at Eurora as a general manager from May to September 2023 and as Eurora’s CFO from January 2022 to March 2023.

She was also the CFO of the Estonian mobility unicorn Bolt from 2017 to 2022. She co-founded the Estonian IT marketplace MarkIT and served as its CFO from 2003 to 2016.

Marko Lastik’s Eurora was declared bankrupt in November 2023. It had liabilities of at least €6.4M, including payroll liabilities, rent for office space, and more than €1M in taxes to the Estonian state.

This month, Starship Technologies announced fundraising worth €83,3M in funding round from Plural (founded by Estonian entrepreneurs Sten Tamkivi and Taavet Hinrikus) and London-based VC Iconical.

According to Starship’s CEO Ahti Heinla, the company will use the investment to expand into new markets, and Anneli's skills and experience will help the company move forward.
