Plural injected an extra investment into British legal tech Robin AI
Plural, founded by Estonian entrepreneurs Sten Tamkivi and Taavet Hinrikus, injected an extra investment into London-based legal tech Robin AI. Singapore-headquartered investment company Temasek led a €24M B round. Among other investors were Belgium IT consulting company QuantumLight and Hong Kong-based VC AFG Partners.
Founded in 2019 by Richard Robinson and James Clough, Robin AI has developed a tool Robin Copilot, which assists companies in drafting and editing agreements. In addition, the tool helps to explain and translate terms in a contract template and draft an email for the executive team about specific contracts. The company uses a machine learning model trained on the data of 4,5M of legal documents and is currently supervised by 30 lawyers. It claims it can reduce companies’ legal fees by up to 75%. The company has offices in New York and London.
In February 2023, Plural invested in Robin AI, leading a €9,6M round.
Founded in 2022 by Sten Tamkivi, Taavet Hinrikus, Ian Hogarth, and Khaled Helioui, Plural is a €250M early-stage venture fund. It focuses on leading early-stage rounds between €1 and €10M. In 2023, it invested in Danish healthtech Teton, US asset-backed secured credit card Pesto, Dutch nanoparticle generator VSParticle, which can split materials at the atomic level in just a few minutes, London-based carbon removal registry Isometric, a British AI-powered tool for detecting harmful online content Unitary.
