Printful acquired US e-commerce company Snow Commerce

Latvian e-commerce platform and producer of print-on-demand items Printful acquired US-based company Snow Commerce, which designs and runs the e-commerce presence for such brands as Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery, and NBCUniversal.

Snow Commerce was founded in Ohio, US, in 2010 by Rick Simpson. The company specializes in tailored e-commerce solutions. Rick Simpson, who is also CEO of Snow Commerce, will lead the company business segment focused on enterprise clients under the Snow Commerce brand.

Printful was founded in 2013 in Riga by Davis Siksnans and Lauris Liberts. The company solution allows to build online brands, and fan communities, or just send someone as a present a personalized t-shirt. Printful fulfills custom clothing, accessories, and home & living items for online businesses. Printful became the first Latvian unicorn in 2021 when US venture capital fund Bregal Sagemount invested in it $130M. The unicorn delivered more than 60M items and built a network of in-house fulfillment centers and strategic partners.

With the acquisition, Snow Commerce and Printful will provide a complete e-commerce solution, including program strategy, website and product creation, fan engagement, and on-demand, international production, and distribution. According to Rick Simpson, CEO of Snow Commerce, this solution will be tailored to each brand and operated by experts in every facet of commerce.

According to Alex Saltonstall, CEO of Printful, the merger of two businesses will help large brands, especially in the entertainment industry, rapidly respond to spikes in interest and commercial demand from fans, and provide them with a more variety of products. As a result, they expect the growth of fan communities, which will engage more with online experiences and purchase more from their beloved brands.
