Ex-chief of staff at Pipedrive and Tuum Liina Vahtras will lead the Estonian e-Residency program

Ex-chief of staff at Estonian CRM and intelligent revenue management platform Pipedrive and banking platform Tuum Liina Vahtras will become the new CEO of the Estonian e-Residency program. She was chosen as the best candidate for this position in the public competition organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and the joint institution of Enterprise Estonia and KredEx. 

Liina Vahtras will be responsible for the successful implementation of the e-Residency program's strategy for 2022-2025. It is expected that thanks to this strategy, the economic impact of the e-Residency program can be increased to €100M per year by the end of 2025. The new CEO will officially lead the e-Residency program starting on June fifth, 2023. 

Liina Vahtras worked as a chief of staff at Tuum from 2022 to 2023 and at Pipedrive from  2017 to 2022. She has helped lead the management teams and develop growth strategies. From 2015 to 2017, she advised former Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas on strategic and e-governance issues. From 2012 to 2015,  Vahtras worked as a PR and marketing manager at the software development company Nortal. From 2007 to 2010, she worked as an adviser in the office of Prime Minister Andrus Ansip and headed the public relations of the Reform Party. 

Vahtras has a master's degree in e-governance technologies and services management from Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech). 

The e-Residency program was established at the end of 2014. It aims to provide foreign citizens with secure access to the e-services of Estonia, diversifying the Estonian economy and increasing the state's revenue base. To date, 102,2K people from 176 countries have become Estonian e-Residents (not counting re-applications and revoked identity cards), who have created more than 25K Estonian businesses. In 2022, e-resident Estonian companies paid €48,4M in labor and dividend taxes to the Treasury.
