Estonia topped the list of Emerging Europe’s IT competitiveness index 2023
Estonia topped the list of Emerging Europe’s IT competitiveness index 2023, which includes 23 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. Lithuania took the second spot, and Latvia appeared in the fourth place.
The report highlighted four main categories: economic impact, talent, IT infrastructure, and business environment. Estonia led only in one category - economic impact, but it also scored well in the other three categories, such as PISA performance (program for international student assessment), and the number of IT workers and developers per capita. The Report noted that Estonia with its 10 unicorns could target 25 unicorns by 2025.
Lithuania showed good results in the labor force, intellectual property and cybersecurity, and support for industry development components. The highest IT salary in the region showed Lithuania (€2,86K) and Estonia (€2,8K).
Emerging Europe’s IT Competitiveness Index is a part of an annual Future of IT report that analyzes the contribution of the countries to the size of the regional market. The Future of IT report 2023 shows the opportunities for IT sourcing, partnerships, and investment across 23 countries of this region.
