Estonian fund Specialist VC brought on board a new partner Kaspar Hanni

Former board member of Estonian media group Ekspress Group and a business angel Kaspar Hanni became a new partner at Estonian venture fund Specialist VC.

From 2017 to February 2023, he was the development manager and board member of the Estonian media group Ekspress Group and has influenced a lot in the development of the group's digital businesses, M&A transactions, and investment and development projects. From 2012 to 2015, Hanni was Microsoft’s head of Enterprise and Partner Group in the Baltics.

A new Specialist VC board partner is also a member of the management board of the Estonian Business Angels Network EstBAN. And as a business angel, he has already invested in 10 startups. 

As the Founding Partner of Specialist VC Riivo Anton commented, Kaspar has a valuable experience in media, subscription-based business models, M&A, and enterprise sales. So that can be beneficial for the fund's portfolio. He also mentioned that they had made several co-investments earlier.

Specialist VC is a venture capital fund supporting companies from the Baltic region, Finland and Ukraine. Usually, it starts financing from €250K. The fund started its work in Tallinn in 2017. At the beginning of 2022, Specialist VC launched a new €50M, which gets support from Estonian LHV pension funds and the European Investment Fund through the European Guarantee Fund and the Baltic Innovation Fund 2.
