"Shared my thoughts on what to do and what to expect from angel investing in 2023.

Despite the fact that the investment landscape has changed significantly, my angel investment credo is still the same:

– Understand the potential 1000x upside

– Define key risks

– Don’t ignore the red flags

– Invest in syndicates, not alone

– Don’t quit early

And some takeaways from the recent 2022:

• Be LESS skeptical on founders

• Be even more skeptical of market & growth projections

• Angels should be nice; founders — not necessarily

• Stay close to venture hubs (which Riga is still not the one)

• Be non-consensus but right

• Don’t take the pre-seed risk anymore

• But also don’t get into late-stage deals

• Go into syndications with well-established SPVs

• Distinguish long-term trends and stay away from short ones"
